As the Minnesota Vikings got back to work in preparation for Sunday's game against the New York Jets, they were without rookie running back Jerick McKinnon for the third Wednesday in a row. It remains to be seen whether the rookie running back, who strained his low back lifting weights last month, will be back on the field after missing last Sunday's game.
McKinnon said last Friday he thought he could have played, but trainers wanted him to rest against the Carolina Panthers.
McKinnon's comments from last Friday are encouraging, but we're not expecting him to play until he returns to practice. We're cautiously optimistic that he'll make his return against the Jets in Week 14.
