The Giants are signing QB Matt Barkley from the practice squad to the active roster, source said. No surprise. He’ll take Daniel Jones’ roster spot as Jones heads to Injured Reserve.

DeVito still looks like he'll be the short-term starter, but that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Barkley could end up with the job at some point this season.

Normally a practice squad QB signing isn't always fantasy-worthy news, but considering DeVito and Barkley are the QBs ahead of Eason, who knows what could happen for the rest of the season.

An MRI confirmed the Giants’ fears: QB Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season, per coach Brian Daboll.

Taylor is currently on IR with a rib injury and will miss at least three more weeks. So, the Giants will go with either DeVito or Barkley, or, it's possible they start - or eventually start - another QB who is not yet on the team. DeVito is likely to get the start in Week 10 until the Giants can figure out this mess. DeVito wasn't impressive in his debut when Taylor went down, throwing for -1 yard on seven attempts. He did rush for a TD. DeVito did throw for 175 yards and a TD this past week after Jones went down, but added two INTs in the loss.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert has a fracture in his arm and is expected to miss about four weeks.

Goedert will have an MRI and will have surgery, possibly today, Rapoport said. He's certainly an IR/return candidate given the timeline, which is overall good news. It's a significant drop off from Goedert. Calcaterra and Stoll are up next and we may even have an Albert O sighting over the next month. Stoll is probably the starter based on snaps played this season. All three backup TEs have a combined two catches this season, and both were by Stoll.

Pete Carroll reiterated that the loss “is not on one guy,” but the two turnovers make eight in the last four games for Geno Smith and Carroll was asked about his level of concern about that run.

“I’m concerned about that,” Carroll said. “The one, on the fumble, that’s a pass-rush deal. The interception, he threw it up, and the guy who’s been making all the interceptions made another one. But that’s not the direction for us to be going. Up until this game, it took us to first place, whatever the heck we’ve been doing. We didn’t play like a first place team today. Tommy DeVito is now the man for the time being as Tyrod Taylor was already placed on injured reserve this weekend. Unless the Giants make a move to Matt Barkley, who was recently signed to the practice squad. The Giants just lost by 24 to a Raiders team that cleaned house and had former Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce as their interim head coach. It's a Giant mess now at 2-7.
