Slaton watched sidelines, never returned to field

As expected, a Texans running back had a huge day against the Bills. Unfortunately for Steve Slaton owners, his name was Ryan Moats.

Moats, who took over in the backfield after a fumble by Slaton on his first carry of the game, rolled up 126 yards on 23 carries and scored three times in Houston's 31-10 victory against the Bills. Meanwhile, Slaton watched helplessly from the sideline and never returned to the field after losing his league-leading fifth fumble. He finished with two catches for 10 yards and 1 yard rushing.

It's unclear if this move will be permanent, but Slaton owners need to grab Moats immediately. But before you think Moats is a waiver-wire gem for everyone, remember that this breakout game came against the Bills' league-worst run defense. Plus, it's not guaranteed he'll be starting Week 9 against Indy. Pay close attention to this situation this week.

Chargers to sign RB J.K. Dobbins on one-year deal

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.
