Adam Schefter: "Whether Adrian Peterson plays again this year will depend on when legal case is resolved. But Vikings intend to bring him back, per sources."
The big question here is how quickly Peterson's case progresses through the Texas judicial system. His first hearing is not until Oct. 8, so he's unlikely to play again this season if it goes to trial. But he's a first time offender, so a quick plea deal may allow him to rejoin the team later on in the season, assuming he's able to avoid jail time. There's also the matter of a potential suspension from the NFL. There are a lot of moving parts here so owners may want to wait a week or two to see how things develop before dropping Peterson.
