Saints RB Pierre Thomas a top priority to sign longterm

The Times-Picayune New Orleans Saints beat reporter Mike Triplett said deal with RB Pierre Thomas and the Saints could get done sooner rather than later and that it wasn't anything to worry about. He said the Saints have made it clear he's a top priority.

Triplett added that Thomas is a restricted free agent and just three-year vet, and a lot times those type of players don't get longterm deals until after their fourth year.

Fantasy Impact:

Thomas is borderline keeper consideration this offseason, especially in PPR leagues. While RB Reggie Bush is still there, RB Heath Bell left for the Eagles, meaning Thomas could see more of a workload. Even if not a keeper, Thomas should be a nice RB2 in most leagues, available in the ealry middle rounds.
