With running back depth a question going into Sunday's game against the Bengals, the Seattle Seahawks made a roster move today, signing Rod Smith off the practice squad and placing cornerback Tharold Simon (toe) on injured reserve.
Smith originally signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State in the spring.
Marshawn Lynch (hamstring) has been ruled out of Sunday's game. Fred Jackson (high ankle sprain) is questionable. The team will see how he looks pregame before determining whether Jackson can go. The Seahawks also have fullback Derrick Coleman as a potential option to carry the ball.
In all likelihood, it will be Thomas Rawls getting the bulk of the carries.
