Titans RB Dexter McCluster (knee, out) did not practice Wednesday. McCluster may miss the rest of the season. His absence should open up passing down snaps for Bishop Sankey and/or Leon Washington.

Running back Dexter McCluster suffered a first-quarter knee injury Tennessee Titans offensive depth was called on.

Running back Leon Washington and fullback Jackie Battle played more. Battled played 12 snaps, his second-most of the season. Washington played 17 snaps, his most since 18 on opening day.

Fantasy Impact:

Bishop Sankey led the way with 32 snaps among RBs but still isn't producing as owners hoped he would by this point. He had 17 carries for 58 yards and added three receptions. Shonn Greene played just four snaps, but it was Washington who ended up with the team's lone TD on a three-yard reception.

With Titans RB Shonn Greene (hamstring) out, RB Bishop Sankey played 50 percent of the offensive snaps, his highest percentage so far in his rookie season.

Fantasy Impact:

The Titans had 58 snaps in Week 6, and Sankey was in on 29 of them. He led all Tennessee backs. Dexter McCluster had 17 snaps and Leon Washington had 12. Sankey got 18 of the 22 carries by RBs in the game. The bad news is the team went to Jackie Battle on the goal line for a short TD. Sankey finished with 61 yards. We considered him a desperation play in Week 6 even in a good matchup.

Titans plan to use a committee at running back

Monday, April 7, 2014, 11:34am

The Tennesseean - [Full Article]

It will be running back by committee for the Titans. Shonn Greene returns, along with Jackie Battle and Leon Washington. Dexter McCluster was signed the first day of free agency, and though he was primarily a receiver/returner for much of his time with the Chiefs, the Titans plan to line him up at running back. More help is needed, however. Although there aren't any great free-agent options left, the Titans are likely to pick a running back in the May 8-10 draft. Fresh legs are desired.

Fantasy Impact:

McCluster will play the Danny Woodhead role in Ken Whisenhunt's offense, but we're not expecting Woodhead-type numbers. The Titans are not likely to be as good on that side of the ball as the Chargers were in 2013. McCluster may be usable as a spot starter in PPR formats.
