Eagles sign DeSean Jackson to five-year deal worth $51M
Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 8:46pm
Eagles gave DeSean Jackson a five-year, $51-million deal.
Given the way Jackson's 2011 season went, this is surprising, though the Eagles did imply they wanted to keep him after they applied their franchise tag. The signing is good news for Michael Vick but bad news for Jeremy Maclin, who deserves more targets than he's been getting.

Michael Vick is not 100 percent
Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 3:49pm
If it appeared that Michael Vick wasn't 100 percent healthy against the Dolphins, the Eagles quarterback hasn't dispelled the notion.
Despite the Eagles' 26-10 win, Vick, who missed the previous three games with broken ribs, struggled against Miami. He wasn't the only one on offense to be off his game, but Vick completed only 15 of 30 passes and was intercepted once.
"I'm getting better," Vick told philadelphiaEagles.com on Tuesday. "It's been tough the last three or four weeks. Last week didn't make it any better. I'm just trying to stay alive. I'm just trying to be accountable to my teammates."
Vick, who was sacked four times and took a number of other hits, said that he wore a protective vest against the Dolphins. He said it helped some, but only time will stop the pain.
"If you break your ribs, and it hurts, it takes a while to recover," Vick said. "I think with any injury there's nothing that can protect it other than it being all the way healed. I just got to get it all the way healed."
Vick owners should keep this in mind when they're setting their lineups this week. Not only is Vick still bothered by the rib injury, but he faces the Jets, who have given up the 2nd-fewest Adjusted FP to QBs this season.
Eagles WR Maclin had hammy tighten
Monday, December 12, 2011, 5:18pm
Receiver Jeremy Maclin returned after missing three games with hamstring and shoulder injuries and had four catches for 13 yards; he didn’t play most of the second half.
“Jeremy Maclin did as much as he could in his hamstring,” head coach Andy Reid said.
“His leg tightened up a little bit. I don’t think he pulled it, but it tightened up.”
A disappointment for owners who hoped Maclin could step back in with the return of Michael Vick. Maclin will be a question mark next week, but also has a tough matchup against the Jets.

Eagles HC Andy Reid: Michael Vick will start on Sunday barring a setback.
No surprise here. Vick is on track to start against the Dolphins.
LeSean McCoy, Nnamdi Asomugha ACTIVE for Eagles
Friday, December 2, 2011, 12:22am
King Dunlap OT
Phillip Hunt DE
Greg Lloyd LB
Jeremy Maclin WR
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie DB
Julian Vandervelde G
Michael Vick QB
LeSean McCoy appears to be in some pain and less than 100% in pregame warmups. Some sources are saying that McCoy will be limited, but is still expected to get a decent workload. We'd probably start McCoy as normal, but know there is always an injury concern with a questionable player. Jeremy Maclin and Michael Vick are out again for this one as expected.
