Bears kicker Robbie Gould is sitting out practice this week with a quadriceps injury, so the team has added some kicking insurance.

Veteran Jay Feely has been signed by Chicago. If Gould can’t go tomorrow night against the Cowboys, Feely will. Gould is listed as doubtful, so Feely will likely get the nod.

Fantasy Impact:

We doubt too many owners are depending on Gould, who has had a subpar year thanks to the Bears' offensive struggles. He's doubtful, so owners should make other plans.

The Chicago Bears added kicker Robbie Gould to their list of injured players headed into Thursday’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, as he missed practice Tuesday due to a sore groin.

Gould isn’t expected to miss time, but rookie punter Pat O’Donnell worked some Tuesday at place kicking.

“Robbie came up with a … was sore this morning,” Bears coach Marc Trestman said. “So we just rested him today. We’ll see where he is like with the other guys who didn’t practice today. We’ll just see where he is tomorrow.”

The Bears don’t have to declare whether their injured players are probable, questionable or out until Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Mare last played for the Carolina Panthers in 2011, connecting on 22-of-28 field goals.

Finally healthy enough to show Mike Martz what he can do, Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett has exceeded the offensive coordinator’s expectations.

“He’s so good in the slot,” Martz said Thursday. “He does so many good things. He does a great job in those inside routes. He really does so many things for us. I’m excited. I’m really pleased. I thought he was a good player, but he’s even better than I thought. He’s really done a remarkable job.”

After catching 54 passes for 717 yards and 2 touchdowns last season, Bennett sat out the offseason program while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. Finally back on the field, he sustained a hamstring injury in training camp that forced him to miss all four preseason games.

After being inactive for the season opener, Bennett caught five passes in a Week 2 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He then had three receptions and drew a crucial pass-interference penalty that led to Robbie Gould’s game-winning field goal Monday night against the Green Bay Packers.
