Andre Johnson (concussion) considered day-to-day

Texans WR Andre Johnson must undergo the league’s five-step concussion protocol before his status for Sunday's game at Indianapolis can be determined.

“That’s exactly where it stands though,” head coach Bill O’Brien said Monday. “He has to pass the concussion test to be able to be cleared. I would say that’s definitely a day-to-day thing.”

Fantasy Impact:

If Johnson can't start, O'Brien said wide receiver DeVier Posey is a candidate to play. Posey has been inactive for each game this season. Johnson left early in the second quarter after suffering a helmet-to-helmet hit by Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith. The All-Pro receiver headed for the locker room after being examined on the field by team’s medical staff.

Fantasy Impact:

As expected, RB Arian Foster and WRs Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins are active for Monday night. It's a great matchup for Foster owners against Pittsburgh while we have Johnson as a low end WR2 and Hopkins a WR3 against a better Steeler passing defense.

He threw back-to-back touchdown passes during a red zone drill -- both perfectly placed to receiver DeVier Posey and then to running back Arian Foster.

Just a few minutes later, Ryan Fitzpatrick launched a ball to the back of the end zone, high enough that only receiver Andre Johnson could catch it. Johnson tip-toed in-bounds in throwback Andre Johnson fashion, and was enveloped by his teammates.

"I thought Fitzy came out here and worked very well today," Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien said.

One of the Texans’ hardest-working players is third-year receiver DeVier Posey.

Posey (6-1, 210) stays after practice every day working with the JUGS gun. Other receivers and tight ends always join Posey after practice, but long after the others are gone, he remains.

Posey catches passes from every angle. He faces the machine. He turns his back to the machine and turns right to make catches, then turns left to make more receptions.

When Andre Johnson sat out the offseason program, Posey benefited by getting more repetitions in the OTAs. There’s a good chance he could be the team’s most improved receiver.
