TE Niles Paul resigns with Redskins, a three-year deal that can earn him up to just under $10 million, per source.

Fantasy Impact:

Jordan Reed is signed through 2016, so Paul's upside is limited as long as Reed stays healthy. Since Reed hasn't played more than 11 games in either of his two NFL seasons, his owners should keep Paul on speed dial. In best ball formats, the Reed/Paul combo scored 159 points in PPR formats, which equates to #11 TE-type numbers.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring, questionable) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 13. Reed says he’s going to play on Sunday. If he’s out Niles Paul is a decent dart throw with Colt McCoy at quarterback. Of his 42 pass attempts in a game and a half of action, McCoy targeted a tight end 15 times (35.7%). Washington plays early on Sunday.

Dolphins TE Charles Clay (knee, doubtful) missed practice again Friday and is doubtful for Week 12. Midweek downgrades due to new injuries typically result in a missed game and the doubtful tag confirms that he’s likely to miss Week 12. There are no good alternatives in Miami, though owners could pickup and start someone like Coby Fleener, Niles Paul or Marcedes Lewis.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 12. Reed’s injury is not to the same hamstring as his injury earlier in the year. Niles Paul will be a Sneaky Start in his place, though the Redskins’ passing game has taken a step back since the return of Robert Griffin III. Paul averaged 4.5-58-0.25 in four games as he starter — he was the #11 TE in that span.

Redskins tight end Jordan Reed strained his right hamstring -- he dealt with a strained left hamstring earlier this season.

Fantasy Impact:

The frustration continues to grow for Reed owners as he's now had issues with both hamstrings. Niles Paul has proven capable of filling in but we'll have to see Reed's status throughout the week and leading up to the game. At this point, owners are probably better off going another direction, especially given the inconsistent play of QB Robert Griffin III.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 6. Reed told reporters that he’s going to play in Week 6 and ESPN beat writer John Keim said he also expects Reed to play. He should return to the starting lineup after the stinker Niles Paul put up against the Seahawks in Week 5, though there is always risk with soft tissue injuries.

Fantasy Impact:

As expected, Reed is out Monday night and Niles Paul is active and will get the start at TE for Washington. Believe it or not, it's a pretty good matchup for Paul against Seattle as the Seahawks (ranked 29th) have given up fantasy points to TEs this season. Paul took a nasty hit last week and suffered a concussion.

Jordan Reed doesn't practice Saturday

Saturday, October 4, 2014, 2:08pm

ESPN - [Full Article]

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed didn’t practice Saturday.

But the immediate question and concern surrounds Reed, the second-year tight end. Coach Jay Gruden said there is still a chance he will play Monday against Seattle. He is listed as questionable on the injury report. Washington will work him out Sunday.

"We’ll stretch him out a little bit and if he doesn’t feel he can run full speed, then we’ll hold him out," Gruden said.

Fantasy Impact:

Reed said he has not yet tested his injured hamstring by running full speed. Both he and Gruden said there was no setback in his recovery, and the Redskins held him out just to give him another day of rest. With Niles Paul seemingly ready to go after suffering a concussion last week, the Skins may not be in a rush to play Reed. It could be a very cloudy situation if both TEs are active so it may be best to stay away from this situation at least this week.
