Cardinals HC Bruce Arians on WR Larry Fitzgerald:

“It was a down year, and it’s nice to see him on a mission right now to get back to where he was, and rightfully so. He’s a premier player and we need to have him back up over 100 catches and 10-15 touchdowns.”

Fantasy Impact:

Under Arians, Colts WR Reggie Wayne finished 2012 with 106-1355-5, but Wayne was also helped by the arrival of QB Andrew Luck. Fitzgerald should also see an improvement in QB with Carson Palmer under center. Palmer is no savior, but he should provide at least mediocre play at QB which will be a big improvement from the three-headed monster of Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley. We're expecting a bounce-back season for Fitzy, who still is among the most-talented WRs in the NFL.

Fantasy Impact:

This mainly impacts Larry Fitzgerald, who has just eight catches in his last four games. Bench him.

Fantasy Impact:

It's not out of the question Hoyer starts this week. Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt has to choose between John Skelton and Ryan Lindley if he doesn't start Hoyer, and both were terrible in a 58-0 loss to the Seahawks. It's not a pretty fantasy situation.

“Do you play?” Cards head coach Ken Whisenhunt asked a reporter. “Part of our struggles have been tied into the inconsistency at that position. You’ve got to have something there that can cover up some other areas, and we’re not getting that. It seems like we’re getting the other direction, sometimes.”

Looks for a decision to come later in the week but neither John Skelton or Ryan Lindley should be considered for your fantasy lineup.

Cards coach Kevin Kolb made progress in practice last week but still was having soreness. His availability for this weekend’s game in New York against the Jets is very much in doubt with an entire week of practice to go.
