Jets WR Percy Harvin (ankle, questionable) returned to take limited reps Friday after missing practice earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 15. It appears that Harvin now has a good chance to play against the Titans this week. It’s a late game, so it makes for a dicey situation for those owners who want to (or are forced to) wait. Jeremy Kerley is a decent Plan B, though we would look elsewhere, if possible.

But whether they're willing to admit it or not, Percy Harvin really does give Geno Smith and the Jets' decision-makers a better look at whether Geno can be the guy down the road. Or whether the Jets will need to give serious consideration to spending another high draft pick -- or going out on the free agent or trade market -- for a quarterback. With less and less patience when it comes to quarterback development in the NFL, these next nine games are pivotal to Smith's future.
If he can show consistent improvement with an explosive talent like Harvin on one side, the reliable Eric Decker on the other, and Jeremy Kerley, Jace Amaro and Jeff Cumberland as his other targets, then the Jets will get a better fix on whether Smith can be the guy.

Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring, questionable) missed practice again Friday and is questionable for Week 5. Decker is considered a game-time decision. We would recommend that owners avoid this situation if possible, but if Decker is the only option, owners could pick up Jeremy Kerley as a Plan B in case Decker can’t play. The Jets play late on Sunday.

Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring, questionable) returned to take limited reps Friday after missing practice earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 4. Here’s what Decker said today about the chances that he’ll play: “I’m planning on getting out there. I can’t promise anything. Obviously, I’m leaning on the positive side that I’m definitely going to be out there.” This about sums up the clarity here, though the eternally optimistic Rex Ryan thinks Decker will play. Jeremy Kerley would continue to see extra targets if Decker can’t go. His absence would make it tough on QB Geno Smith.

Decker's quotes tell the whole story. He's hoping to play, but his status is very much up in the air. The Jets play early on Sunday, but even if Decker is active, he could leave the game early like he did Monday night against the Bears. Jeremy Kerley would be startable in his absence.
