Andre Johnson set to practice today
Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 11:12am
Texans coach Gary Kubiak on Andre Johnson: "He's doing really well" and "he's got a chance." Will practice today.
Johnson's return would essentially kill the fantasy value of Jacoby Jones, who has been spotty at best with AJ out.

Kubiak: 'possibility' WR Andre Johnson back this week
Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 9:22am
Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that “there’s definitely a possibility” All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson and starting fullback James Casey return from injuries to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.
Kubiak expects both players to practice this week. Johnson has missed the last three-and-a-half games with a hamstring injury that required minor surgery on Oct. 4.
“The plan is for Andre to practice this week,” Kubiak said. “That is the plan as of right now, and we’ll see how that goes, so they both have an opportunity this week. Andre had a really good day of work today, just (from) me talking to the trainers... So we’re expecting him to get back on the practice field with his teammates at some point this week.”
Definitely good news for owners, but we'll have to wait to see when he gets back on the field. If Johnson isn't back this week against the Jags, it would seem like his chances would be better the following week against the Browns.

The Texans (3-3) have lost two in a row without WR Andre Johnson and would like to see him back on the field soon, but the long-term goal for Johnson is to have this injury put behind him completely. Since he’s unable to run at full speed, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to play during Sunday’s game against the Titans in Tennessee.
“They say it could take up to six weeks at the most,” Johnson said. ”But I don’t think it will take me that long.”

Texan coach Gary Kubiak: Andre Johnson "made a lot of improvement last week. We’ll increase his work. I have a hard time saying right now (if he'll play)."

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson feels good enough to return in two weeks.
But that might not be possible because several things have to happen before he's cleared to play for the first time since suffering a torn hamstring in Sunday's 17-10 victory over Pittsburgh.
"I have to wait a few days to get the stitches out, and once I do, I can go all out and see where I am," Johnson, 30, said after Friday's practice. "If I had to pick a date, I'd give it a couple of weeks. That's just my gut feeling. I think I'm a fast healer."
Johnson (6-3, 226 pounds) will miss Sunday's game against Oakland and the next one at Baltimore. He might have to sit out the Oct. 23 game at Tennessee and return against Jacksonville on Oct. 30.
"Out of any procedure I've ever had, this is probably the best I've felt," he said. "I'm pretty confident about this one. I'm pretty pumped; just can't wait to get these stitches out so I can get to rolling."
Andre Johnson did have surgery, recovery time still three weeks
Thursday, October 6, 2011, 11:04am
Texans beat writer Stephanie Stradley: "I received information from a source I trust that contrary to my previous post, Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson did have a surgical procedure on the distal tendon of his hamstring and not Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy. Surgery done by someone very familiar with doing it. This is not confirmed with anyone from the Texans nor his agent as they do not publicly wish to talk about it. I was told that the procedure went well, and like what others have been hearing, that the anticipated recovery time is three weeks."
This is a tremendous opportunity for Jacoby Jones, but Jones has disappointed in similar situations in the past. He's worth a pickup, and perhaps a start this week, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to be a difference-maker while Johnson is out.
