Running back Javon Ringer (torn MCL) won’t be ready to play any time soon, but coach Mike Munchak said the Titans plan to be patient with him. Ringer was injured in the 30-7 loss at Minnesota on Oct. 7. He’s still at least four weeks away from action.

Munchak said the Titans have no plans of placing Ringer on Injured Reserve, however.

Kenny Britt active for Titans, may be limited

Titans Inactives
Patrick Bailey LB
Lavelle Hawkins WR
Jake Locker QB
Deuce Lutui G
Michael Otto T
Javon Ringer RB

Fantasy Impact:

Matt Hasselbeck will continue to start for the Titans. Kenny Britt is active, but is coming off a short week and not 100%. Kendall Wright and Nate Washington will also be in the mix. With Javon Ringer out 4+ weeks, Jamie Harper and Darius Reynaud will work behind Chris Johnson. In a perfect world, Titans HC Mike Munchak would like to get them both some touches.

Titans HC Mike Munchak on if Jamie Harper or Darius Reynaud will get more carries with Javon Ringer out:

Yeah, obviously, (Jamie) Harper will suit up. I think both of them—they’ll both get an opportunity to be in, they’ll both be dressed, just depending on how the game goes. I hope that we get to run the ball 25, 30 times and they’ll both get a chance to run.

Munchak on if it would be nice to use Jamie Harper as a change-of-pace back:

Yeah, obviously, we think Jamie (Harper) is a real good back. We like (Javon) Ringer. Again, Ringer brings experience and protection, things like that and he’s very familiar with that, so that was kind of the edge he had over (Harper) on a weekly basis. Obviously, Harper is a much bigger man and is a different type of runner so that’s why we drafted him, so you would hope he would play at some point. We’ve just got to be patient. I know it’s frustrating for a running back when you’re not getting the chance to play like you’d like to, like he did his rookie year because of (Chris Johnson) holding out, so he’ll be up now, and it’s more or less how the flow of the games go. There’s no plan to, right now, you know, if we carry the ball or not, if we get 10 carries, he won’t be carrying it, but if we do what we hope we do and we’re carrying it 35 times, then hopefully he’ll get a handful of those carries.

Fantasy Impact:

Britt is probable for Thursday night, and said that he is “definitely getting back" to where he was last year. We would like to see the old Kenny Britt produce in a game before recommending that he be inserted into fantasy lineups, though his considerable upside makes him a decent flex option in most formats.
