Not playing Saturday against the Cleveland Browns aided the healing process for Billy Cundiff’s sore left calf, but the Ravens kicker is eager to return for Sunday’s regular-season finale at the Cincinnati Bengals.
"I’m definitely hoping to be back next week," Cundiff said. "Right now, it feels much better than it did last week, but that really doesn’t matter until we actually kick and see how it holds up."
Filling in for Cundiff, Shayne Graham connected on field goals of 48 and 43 yards and made two extra points. The only criticism is that he didn’t register a touchback – only the second time this season that the Ravens failed to post a touchback in a game.
Billy Cundiff will not kick in Week 16

One year after the Baltimore Ravens cut Shayne Graham when he lost a kicking competition in training camp, he was signed Wednesday as an injury replacement for the struggling Billy Cundiff.

Miami Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter is out for Sunday's game vs. the Buffalo Bills. Former Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham will fill Carpenter's spot.
Carpenter was pretty low in our rankings. Fantasy owners needing a kicker should go with someone other than Graham.

The Dallas Cowboys will release veteran kickers Shayne Graham and Dave Rayner, leaving rookie Dan Bailey and David Buehler to split the duties.
Bailey, the Lou Groza Award winner at Oklahoma State last season, will kick field goals and extra points. He had an up-and-down training camp, but he made both of his attempts during the preseason, making kicks from 37 and 41 yards.
Buehler will be a kickoff specialist, as he was his rookie season in 2009. As the lone kicker on the roster last season, Buehler ranked among the least accurate kickers in the NFL, making only 75 percent of his field goals and missing two extra points.
As an unknown, Bailey shouldn't be drafted, but as part of a good offense, he could be worthy of an in-season waiver add if he proves worthy of the job.

Cowboys HC Jason Garrett said Dave Rayner, David Buehler, Shayne Graham and Dan Bailey all will get the chance to kick in Thursday’s preseason finale against Miami. Buehler joked they may have to kick on first and second down to make sure everyone gets a crack.
Stay away from the Dallas kickers until one wins the job.

The Cowboys are still trying to solve their kicking situation. The team has plans to bring in veteran Dave Rayner for a workout and quite possibly some others.
Rayner kicked with the Detroit Lions last year where in eight games he converted 81.3 percent of his field goal tries and out of 34 kickoffs had two touchbacks and 31 returned for an average of 20 yards.
The Cowboys have David Buehler, Kai Forbath, Shayne Graham and Dan Bailey in camp. If the team signs Rayner, they have room on the roster for him because the team doesn't have to get down to 80 players until Wednesday.
With a lot of drafts already over, this is something to note if you drafted Buehler...

David Buehler is out with a hip flexor and needs to return quickly to have any hope of securing kicking duties for the Dallas Cowboys.
Veteran Shayne Graham made a 38-yard field goal Saturday night against the Vikings, and the rookie from Oklahoma State, Dan Bailey, made two - from 37 and 41 yards. Graham sent three of his six kickoffs into the end zone.
Buehler is doing some light kicking as he recovers from his hip issue, but with one preseason game left, the competition for the kicking job is turning into a two-man race.
Given that Dallas should have a good offense this year, their kicker could prove to be a valuable waiver wire acquisition at some point during the season.
Cowboys add K Shayne Graham
Tuesday, August 23, 2011, 11:29am
The Cowboys have added another kicker to the roster by signing veteran Shayne Graham.
Graham joins David Buehler, Danny Bailey and Kai Forbath, however, Buehler (hip) and Forbath (quadriceps) are injured. Bailey handled the kicking duties in Sunday’s preseason game vs. San Diego but did not have a field goal attempt.
Graham was cut by Washington after missing field goal tries from 29 and 49 yards in the first week of the preseason. He went 12-of-12 last year in New England after replacing Stephen Gostkowski.

The Washington Redskins have cut auditioning veteran kicker Shayne Graham two days after he missed a pair of field goals in Friday night’s preseason opener.
Graham was trying to unseat Graham Gano, who struggled last season but made all three field goal attempts on Friday.
Graham, the third most accurate kicker in league history, had struggled in practice last week and couldn’t redeem himself Friday. It wasn’t immediately clear if the Redskins would bring in another kicker to compete with Gano.
You don't want Washington's kicker under any circumstances.
