TE Stupar rejoins the Bills
Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 12:35pm
tight end Jonathan Stupar, 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds, rejoins the Bills 53-man roster after originally being promoted Sept. 14. He was then cut two days later, but re-signed with the practice squad Sept. 17. He led the Bills in the preseason with 15 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills needed another healthy body at tight end with Schouman out and the status of rookie Shawn Nelson, who suffered a sprained shoulder against Tampa, unclear. Stupar joins Derek Fine as the two healthy tight ends on the roster.

The injuries mounted fast for the Buffalo Bills, who had two players — right tackle Brad Butler and tight end Derek Schouman — carted off the field with knee injuries against Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Butler did not return after hurting his right knee late in the first half. Schouman was carted off the field after twisting his right knee while being tackled after making a 6-yard catch with a minute left in the third quarter.
Schouman's injury left Buffalo with one tight end, Derek Fine, after Shawn Nelson left the game in the first half with a strained shoulder.

Bills Thursday's practice report:
Defensive end Aaron Schobel was held out of the Bills' practice on Thursday due to a sore lower back. He's not expected to miss the game on Sunday, but his status will be monitored the next two days. Defensive end Chris Kelsay (knee), cornerback Drayton Florence (knee) and tight end Derek Fine (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis. Head coach Dick Jauron is optimistic all three could play.
