Pierre Garcon has torn tendon in foot

The Washington Redskins were publicly holding out hope wide receiver Pierre Garcon would play Sunday against the New York Giants.

Privately, they knew he had virtually no shot, that he's likely out a few more weeks and that he has more than just an inflamed capsule in his foot.

Garcon, who has played in only three games this season and is inactive Sunday after being listed as doubtful, also has a torn tendon in his foot and could sit out the next two games leading into the team's bye on Nov. 11, according to a person briefed on the specifics of Garcon's injury.

Fantasy Impact:

It's reported that Garcon could play before the bye, but that is unlikely. Expect him to rest until the Nov. 18 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Skins have a bye on Nov. 11. Leonard Hankerson will see more time as a result.
