Pats TE Rob Gronkowski says he'll be a coach's decision

Heading into Week 1, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski described himself as “week-to-week” with a hamstring injury that he suffered during training camp.

The last two weeks have seen Gronkowski on the inactive list, but he’s been a limited participant at practice each day of the season. That includes Tuesday’s walkthrough session and Gronkowski said after the session that he’s “feeling better every single day.” He also upped his assessment to “day-to-day” while discussing his chances of playing the Texans on Thursday.

“We’ll see. Definitely going to be a coach’s decision, trainer’s decision. We’ll all come together,” Gronkowski said, via WEEI.com. “Just doing everything I can right now to be as healthy as I can be. Improving every single day, basically day-by-day right now, taking it one day at a time. Day-by-day.”

Fantasy Impact:

Gronkowski showed up to the field in full pads Tuesday, saying he wanted “to get the feel of the shoulder pads when you haven’t been in them that much.” He removed them for the walkthrough itself. The story added the short week, plus then having 10 days before Week 4 could factor in the team's decision to play Gronk in Week 3.
