One day after mentioning the Rams might have interest in running back Derrick Ward, the Rams have decided to pass on Ward.

Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo had interest during the 2009 free agency period but Ward signed with the Bucs. After one disappointing season, Ward is available but the Rams aren't interested.

Why? Simply stated, Ward looks awful on tape. One league source said he looks almost disinterested. According to reports out of Tampa, Ward showed up to training camp overweight. He rushed for only 50 yards on 21 carries (2.4 yards per carry) during the preseason.

Fantasy Impact:

Derrick Ward is likely to be picked-up by a team but it may take an injury to do so. Many of the roster spots are already spoken for. With missing most of training camp, he is clearly not in shape. The UFL may be calling his name!
