Lions TE Eric Ebron's role is increasing by the week and the coaching staff continues to praise his development. Against the Bills he played a season-high 37 snaps and coach Jim Caldwell had good things to say about the rookie's performance during his Monday press conference.
"We feel good about Eric," Caldwell said. "We think he's making good progress. It may not show up in the numbers, targets and things of that nature that one would like to see. But nevertheless, I think you're going to see him continue to get better."
This piece does a nice job of breaking down the film to show Ebron wide open on one play where Stafford didn't pull the trigger and took a sack. The story goes on to say while there is still room for improvement, Ebron played better than his final numbers indicated, which should be a good sign going forward. He also did fairly well blocking, missing one assignment late in the game that didn't affect the outcome. Outside of deeper leagues, Ebron is a bit of a risk as a fantasy starter but seems to be making strides and could be worth keeping an eye on.
