Justin Forsett hopes there's no RB committee

When asked how he felt about a running back by committee approach, Ravens RB Justin Forsett jokingly feigned ignorance.

"What's that?" Forsett said, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley.

Forsett's comedy bit oozed with sarcasm, but it underscores the idea that the career journeyman wants to carry the load.

One thing Forsett has in his favor is that the running game did struggle last season, especially when he was out of the lineup. On the balance, the Ravens fell to 1,478 total rushing yards in 2015, down from 2,019 in 2015.

But the 30-year-old back himself doesn't exactly have a history of consistent success. His first season in Baltimore in 2014 was a Pro Bowl year, but it was also his first with more than 120 carries and more than 650 yards.

Fantasy Impact:

Forsett may want to carry the load, but early indications are this will be a committee. The story mentioned NFL Media's Mike Garafolo noted rookie Kenneth Dixon has a "legitimate shot" to earn snaps early in the season. Dixon is said to have shiftiness and one-cut explosiveness and is a reliable pass-catching out of the backfield.

Chargers to sign RB J.K. Dobbins on one-year deal

Former Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is planning to sign with the #Chargers on a one-year deal. Electric when healthy, Dobbins — who averages 5.8 yards per carry in his career — reunites with OC Greg Roman and can hit the market again in March.

Fantasy Impact:

Dobbins has had poor injury luck in his career, but has only managed 234 total rushes since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is a low-risk, high-reward move by the Chargers and might give them a runway to wait a little longer in the '24 Draft before they address the position.

Cowboys sign RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year deal. Freeman had 319 yards on 77 carries with 2 touchdowns last year for the Los Angeles Rams. He was 3rd round pick of Denver in '18.

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman hasn't rushed for 500 yards since 2018, his rookie season. This shouldn't have any impact on the team drafting at the position and/or bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.
