Giants running back Orleans Darkwa had 29 carries for 112 yards (3.9 ypc) in the three games starter Rashad Jennings missed with a thumb injury. Jennings returned to the lineup in Sunday's 27-23 win over the Ravens and Darkwa went back to the bench.
Darkwa didn't play a single snap on offense or special teams on Sunday despite a woefully unproductive rushing attack. Jennings had nine carries for just 15 yards, while Bobby Rainey (six carries, 13 yards) and Paul Perkins (two carries, 10 yards) didn't fare much better.
No one wants a return to the running back committee that was ineffective last season. But it hasn't been clear this season that Jennings, who is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry, is the team's top back.
