Former Rutgers football star and current NFL player Kenny Britt was arrested in Glen Ridge this past Friday evening.
Authorities confirmed Monday afternoon that Britt was apprehended on Bloomfield Avenue for a traffic violation just after 11 p.m. Jan. 15. The incident began when officers on patrol observed Britt’s vehicle stopped in the middle of Bloomfield Avenue, said Glen Ridge Lt. Robert Wohlgemuth.
Police discovered that Britt, 21, had three outstanding traffic warrants, two from Elizabeth and one from Jacobstown. The three warrants totaled $865.
Britt posted bail for the warrants and was released later that night, according to the Glen Ridge Police. No additional charges were filed, Wohlgemuth said.
