Dolphins RB Arian Foster (groin) day-to-day

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said running back Arian Foster is day to day with a groin injury that limited him to three carries in the loss to the New England Patriots.

“At least that looks good for us,” Gase said Monday. “We’ll see how he does this week. We haven’t really made any decisions on whether or not we’re going to try to get him out at practice on Wednesday. I think we’re just going to get through today, see where he is at tomorrow and then when we get to Wednesday, just kind of evaluate what’s best for us to do with him right now.”

Fantasy Impact:

Once Foster went down, the Dolphins relied on Jay Ajayi, who had been left home for the opener at Seattle, and rookie Kenyan Drake. Ajayi had five carries for 14 yards (a 2.8 average) and Drake two carries for 12 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Backups Isaiah Pead and Damien Williams were inactive. Gase would not specify what would happen if Foster, who has had a string of injury-plagued seasons, cannot play in Sunday’s home opener against the Cleveland Browns, the story said.
