The depth of the loss created when former New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss signed with Oakland shows itself every day, given no one has stepped up to seize the tight end position in his absence.
Undersized Travis Beckum was the favorite to do so, but has been hobbled by a hamstring issue. He also drew the ire of offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride recently in practice for not only being in a play he didn’t belong in, but then ran the wrong route.
The undersized Beckum (6-3, 234) also has struggled at times in blocking.
Don't bank on Beckum this year.
