The Chicago Bears on Tuesday placed receiver Marquess Wilson on injured reserve with a designation for return. It's a disappointing -- but not unexpected -- move for the second-year pro, whom the Bears had hoped could be their No. 3 receiver. Now, Wilson must miss at least the first eight games of the season.
By rule, Wilson is now ineligible to play until the Nov. 9 game against the Packers in Week 10. He is ineligible to practice until the start of Week 7, which would be Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Santonio Holmes is expected to be the Bear WR3 Week 1.
