CHI: WR Hester left the game early injuried

The Chicago Bears' 48-24 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday may have come with a price.

Starting wide receiver Devin Hester left the game early in the second quarter after being sandwiched by Detroit defenders William James and Louis Delmas on a short 2-yard reception near the goal line. Hester was taken back to the locker room, and was not made available to the media after the game.

Bears head coach Lovie Smith was predictably vague when it came to the injury.

"Devin Hester has a shoulder injury," said Smith. "I don't know the extent, but we'll continue to evaluate [it] and then be able to give more information."

Considering the Bears are on a bye week, that information might not be so forthcoming.
