Carroll: Sitting QB Russell Wilson Week 4 'a consideration' - [Full Article]

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has confirmed that quarterback Russell Wilson has an MCL sprain in his left knee and may miss Sunday's matchup against the Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Asked on 710 ESPN Seattle if he would sit Wilson Sunday to give the quarterback more time to heal heading into a Week 5 bye, Carroll wouldn't discount the possibility.

"I think obviously there's a consideration for that," he said Monday. "With an extra couple weeks it would help everybody, if they could sit out for a while and they could all get healed. But we'll see what happens. We're going to do the right thing. We're going to make sure that we're very careful. He's an extraordinary person. We have to listen very carefully because he's going to will it and feel that he can do everything. We just got to see through it and make sure we're supporting him properly to help protect him from himself."

Fantasy Impact:

In fairness, Carroll said sitting everyone a week leading up to the bye would help, so it seems like he tried to get around the specific question about Wilson. But the fact the team has a bye in Week 5 and Wilson has had an ankle and knee injury already this season, it may be what the team decides to do. We likely won't know more until later in the week. Trevone Boykin would get the start if Wilson is out Week 4.
