Cardinals WR Michael Floyd cut after DUI

The Cardinals have cut wide receiver Michael Floyd.

Floyd, who was scheduled to be a free agent after the season, struggled mightily on the field all season and then was arrested on a DUI charge early Monday morning after the team had returned from a road game in Miami.

To replace Floyd on the roster, the Cardinals signed wide receiver Jeremy Ross, a veteran who has spent time with seven NFL teams, including multiple stints with the Jets this season.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a surprising move, but given his status as a pending free agent and struggles on the field, it's not entirely shocking. He'll definitely get a fresh start elsewhere given his age (27), first round pedigree, and the potential and production he displayed from 2013 to 2015 (averaging 55 catches for 910 yards and 5.7 touchdowns per season). J.J. Nelson should see starter-type snaps with Floyd out of the way and John Brown still limited with his sickle-cell trait.
