Braylon Edwards signs one-year deal with 49ers

Wide receiver Braylon Edwards has agreed to a $3.5 million, one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

Edwards faces a possible suspension stemming from his July guilty plea to a DWI arrest on Sept. 21, 2010.

Fantasy Impact:

Apparently, Edwards met a softer market than expected because he was looking for a long-term deal and big bucks. With Michael Crabtree sidelined with a foot injury, WR is a position of need for the 49ers so the signing makes sense. The deal enhances the value of Alex Smith and obviously hurts Josh Morgan's sleeper status. Vernon Davis may get fewer targets, but he'll see fewer double-teams as well.
