Cowboys running back Marion Barber will not play on Sunday against Indianapolis, owner/GM Jerry Jones said Thursday night.
Barber injured his calf in the fourth quarter of Dallas' loss to New Orleans on Thanksgiving. He missed his third straight practice on Thursday.
Barber, listed as questionable on the team's injury report, has rushed for 313 yards and three touchdowns. Before his injury, Felix Jones had more carries than Barber in two of the last three games.
Jones said that Tashard Choice, who has only 14 carries, will see more action against the Colts with Barber out.
It's an interesting matchup this week against a Colts team that ranks 29th against the rush. Dallas' defense will have to keep this game close, though, so the offense can use the running game. Felix Jones is a much better play, while Choice is a borderline RB3 despite the increased workload.
