Beat: Nick Foles likely to be Eagles' starter

If this is a fair fight, if this is truly open competition, QB Nick Foles will be the Eagles’ starting quarterback on opening day.

And the fact that Foles is still here when it would have been easy to trade him and the fact that he really did split the OTA and minicamp reps with Michael Vick tells you it really will be a fair fight.

Fantasy Impact:

The entire article is a good read, as beat writer Rueben Frank lays out the case why Foles will (and should) be the Eagles starter. This is definitely concerning for Vick, who certainly seems to be on very thin ice at this point. There are too many solid QB2 options to use a 11th round pick on Vick, at least until we have a better idea of who is going to start for the Eagles. As for Foles, if he is the starter, consider him a low-end QB2 option. The Eagles are likely to be run-heavy, and QB is very deep this season.
