Alex Smith (shoulder sprain) should be fine for Week 9

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters today that Smith suffered a shoulder sprain in yesterday’s win over the Rams.

Reid added that Smith’s right shoulder was “a little tender,” today, after suffering the injury late in the first half. It was hard to tell from his passing line, as Smith was a Smith-like 24-of-28 for 226 yards, and handing off for another 143 yards rushing.

Fantasy Impact:

Smith is expected to be OK and should be on track to start Week 9 is what is shaping up to be a nice matchup against the Jets.
