49ers won't rule out Michael Crabtree for Week 11

When asked if wide receiver Michael Crabtree could be added to the 53-man roster for Sunday’s game, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said, “We’ll see. I’m not going to make any predictions today on who that is, but we’ve been encouraged with his progress and there’s other options as well.”

Crabtree, who is on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, was not spotted on the practice field Wednesday. Because he is not on the 53-man roster, his activity is not included on the 49ers’ injury report. Crabtree was cleared to begin practicing last week, six months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Achilles.

Fantasy Impact:

Crabtree could be getting close or Harbaugh may be stubbornly refusing to give out any information for competitive reasons. We're not high on Crabtree down the stretch due to matchups with the Seahawks (Richard Sherman) and the Buccaneers (Darrelle Revis) in Week 14 and Week 15, but if he does return soon, he could potentially be useful in Week 13 against the Rams. Crabtree was the #14 WR in 2012, but don't expect that type of production as he works his way back into game shape.
