Week 7 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday

Bears QB Jay Cutler (right thumb, doubtful) did not practice Wednesday. Cutler has seemingly been “Wally Pipp’ed” by Brian Hoyer.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. HC John Harbaugh said that Flacco has a “legitimate shot” to play in Week 7, so this is a situation to monitor. Ryan Mallett is the backup. The Ravens play early on Sunday.

Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. No worries here.

Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday. It’s possible that McCown can return to the starting lineup this week. Stay tuned.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) did not practice Wednesday. Reports came out today that Roethlisberger is going to miss 4-6 weeks after knee surgery, but our source in Pittsburgh believes that he’s “playing up” the injury to look “tough” when he returns in Week 9 after the team’s bye. We’re recommending that owners stream the position and not cut ties with Roethlisberger until we see how his recovery is going around Week 9.
