Week 7 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (right shoulder) missed practice again Thursday. HC John Harbaugh said that Flacco has a “legitimate shot” to play in Week 7, so this is a situation to monitor. Ryan Mallett is the backup. The Ravens play early on Sunday.

49ers QB Blaine Gabbert (back) was added to the injury report Thursday after taking full practice reps.

Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder) was removed from the injury report Thursday after taking limited practice reps Wednesday.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (ankle) was limited Thursday after taking full practice reps Wednesday. Luck will be fine to play.

Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Even when McCown returns, Cody Kessler is expected to continue as the starter.

Texans QB Brock Osweiler (foot) took full practice reps Thursday. Osweiler should be fine to face his old team.

Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (hamstring) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. Palmer worked on the side with a trainer. He should be ok, though Friday’s practice should clear things up.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) missed practice again Thursday. Reports came out today that Roethlisberger is going to miss 4-6 weeks after knee surgery, but our source in Pittsburgh believes that he’s “playing up” the injury to look “tough” when he returns in Week 9 after the team’s bye. We’re recommending that owners stream the position and not cut ties with Roethlisberger until we see how his recovery is going around Week 9.
