IDP Waiver Suggestions and Start/Sits - Week 16

Welcome to Week 16, which is hopefully championship week for most of you. A long season of draft prep, analyzing matchups and scouring the waiver wire has paid off! For those of you who have your finals this week, I sincerely thank you for reading every week, and I hope I was able to help a bit on your championship journey.

If you’re still looking for waiver wire help and matchup help, here’s a look at what Week 16 has to offer:

IDP Waiver Wire

Defensive Line

William Hayes, DE, Los Angeles Rams (34 snaps/56 percent)

William Hayes has performed admirably in Robert Quinn’s absence and has strung together some solid performances. Hayes has sacks in back-to-back games and has a favorable matchup against the 49ers this week. If you’ve been hit by injuries, consider Hayes as a high upside DL2 this week.

Andre Branch, DE, Miami Dolphins (49 snaps/64 percent)

Andre Branch was held without a sack against the Jets, but has a favorable matchup against Jordan Mills and Buffalo’s right side. He’s also producing enough tackles to put him in consideration for tackle-heavy/balanced leagues this week. If you need a flier for Week 16, consider Branch, as he’s averaging a 65-percent snap rate.

Fletcher Cox, DT, Philadelphia Eagles (46 snaps/79 percent)

Fletcher Cox has turned up the production over the last two games, after some of his owners may have bailed on him this season. He’s now recorded sacks in consecutive weeks against two really good offensive lines (Baltimore and Washington). Cox managed five tackles in the first go-round with the Giants, and the Eagles will look to be the spoiler for New York’s division title run.

Kawann Short, DT, Carolina Panthers (45 snaps/69 percent)

Kawann Short is in play this week for DT-required leagues. He's recorded 48 tackles, including 11 for a loss, and has five sacks (including a two sack game in Week 14). In Short’s Week 4 game against Atlanta, he went for five tackles and a sack. If you’re looking for a DT2 this week, Short is worth considering.
