DraftKings Week 9 Cash Game Breakdown

As we get to the midway point of the season, we're really starting to see injuries take their toll, which is opening up a ton of inexpensive value plays. The players highlighted below represent the approach I'm leaning towards in lineup construction, but there are a lot of different ways to go. I wrote up Tom Brady at QB, but there are numerous QBs at various price points that will get the job done -- albeit with less upside than Brady. At TE, I went with Delanie Walker, but there are some appetizing punt options (Heath Miller, Jacob Tamme), although their floors relative to Walker are a bit low for my tastes. The one thing I do think it is prudent to do is to take advantage of the value at RB by using one in the flex. In general, using a RB in the flex is the safer bet in cash games, and with value abound, that especially rings true this week.

QB Tom Brady $8,500 vs. WAS

Because of the pricing structure on DraftKings where seemingly half of the QBs are near minimum price, there is usually value in paying down at the position. This week, there is value abound, so I like paying up for Brady. He is on pace for 5,509 passing yards, 46 TDs, and two interceptions. He leads all QBs in both passing yards per game (344.3) and passing TDs per game (2.9). Factor in his two rushing TDs, and he averages over three total TDs per outing. With the Patriots' Vegas implied team total is sitting 33 points, three TDs may be Brady's floor. Washington is a bottom-10 team in QB aFPA.
