Week 4 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday

Saints QB Drew Brees (right shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday. It’s a good sign for Brees that he’s able to return to practice, but he’s dealing with diminished strength in his arm. The Cowboys have been a bad matchup for opposing quarterbacks (5th in aFPA).

Bears QB Jay Cutler (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday. There is an outside chance that Cutler can play, but he’s expected to miss Week 4. Jimmy Clausen likely gets the start against the Raiders.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Luck’s shoulder injury might explain the so-so production thus far. He’s still a good start at home against Jacksonville.

Texans QB Ryan Mallett (chest) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Mallett should be fine to face the Falcons. He may be a Sneaky Start given the likelihood that the Texans fall behind.

Broncos QB Peyton Manning (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday. No worries here. The old man is just getting a day off.

Browns QB Johnny Manziel (right elbow) practiced fully Wednesday.

Browns QB Josh McCown (right hand) practiced fully Wednesday.

Redskins QB Colt McCoy (foot) practiced fully Wednesday.

Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. Taylor should be fine to face the Giants. He’s a top 10 option this week after posting the 5th most fantasy points among quarterbacks through three weeks.
