Week 4 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday

Saints QB Drew Brees (right shoulder, probable) took limited practice reps all week and is probable for Week 4. We’re expecting Brees to return in Week 4. The Cowboys have been a bad matchup for opposing quarterbacks (5th in aFPA), but Brees is typically a good fantasy bet at home. The injury makes him a risk/reward play.

Bears QB Jay Cutler (hamstring, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 4. There is an outside chance that Cutler can play, but he’s expected to miss Week 4. Jimmy Clausen likely gets the start against the Raiders. The Bears play early on Sunday.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder, questionable) took limited practice reps all week and is questionable for Week 4. He wasn’t wearing a harness/sling on his throwing shoulder, which is a good sign. The Colts play early on Sunday, and we expect Luck will be out there.

Texans QB Ryan Mallett (chest, probable) took limited practice reps all week and is probable for Week 4. Mallett is a decent desperation option given the likelihood that the Texans fall behind early against the Falcons.
