Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for the Divisional Round

I talked about the differences between the large slates of the regular season and the smaller slates of the NFL playoffs last week on Stacking the Deck. This week could play out very similarly with not a ton of inspiring options on offense. I would again suggest to scale back your bankroll exposure this week and err on the side of unique lineup construction whenever possible. The lack of wrong answers favors the casual DFS player quite a bit -- and that doesn’t even take into account the increased variance of playoff football.

Below are my top situations and stacks to exploit in tournaments for the Division Round on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Cam Newton ($8700 FD / $7500 DK) & Greg Olsen ($6500 FD / $6900 DK) vs. SEA (FanDuel)

The most instrumental player for the Panthers in Week 6 of the regular season was Greg Olsen. Carolina's come-from-behind win was greatly aided by Olsen’s seven catches for 131 yards and a touchdown. He had a robust 11 targets in a game where the Seahawks had no answer for short-to-intermediate passes towards the middle of the field. Olsen is the only tight end outside of Rob Gronkowski this week with a safe floor and tournament-winning ceiling. Seattle ranks 26th in the NFL in pass DVOA against tight ends and has struggled at times this year against the position. It goes without saying the Cam Newton is a premium GPP option every single week, especially at home, and the Seahawks have given up some big games to much lesser quarterbacks this season.
