FanDuel Week 11 Cash Game Breakdown

A lot of debates this week center around whether Case Keenum is viable in cash games at a cost of only $4,800. At his price tag I think he is certainly viable; he could stumble into 12 points with a pedestrian 200 yards and one touchdown. I did research this offseason that backs up Keenum as a play: QBs under $6,000 returned the most value on FanDuel. However, there is so much value on the slate that I do not think Keenum is a must-play.

If you play Keenum, you are essentially punting the QB position to load up on studs elsewhere -- preferably by paying for consistency at otherwise inconsistent positions like WR and TE. However, there is so much value at WR that you can field a strong lineup without Keenum. If you do use Keenum, you can pay up for a stud WR, but all the options come with question marks. We have Julio Jones as a strong value, but there is some risk there: will he be shadowed by a very good cornerback in Vontae Davis? Is Dez Bryant fully healthy, and will he and Tony Romo be firing on all cylinders in their first game together in over two months? Mike Evans is an enticing option based on target volume and matchup, but he has been all-or-nothing: in his last six games, he has totaled exactly three receptions in three of the games and exactly eight receptions in the other three games. All of those options are enticing, but it is hard to argue they have higher floors than a player like Cam Newton. Ultimately, Keenum is viable, but be careful not to use him just so you can pay up for studs who may be just as risky for your overall lineup construction. Of the players I did not list below, Adrian Peterson ($8,900) and Rob Gronkowski ($8,400) are the studs I would feel most confident about.

QB Cam Newton $8,600 vs. WAS

The QB2 on FanDuel, Newton will take the field at home against the Redskins with his team's Vegas implied total sitting at 26 points. The high point total is especially relevant given the fact that Newton has accounted for 81 percent of Carolina’s offensive TDs this season. He has scored multiple TDs in eight straight games, and the Redskins have allowed multiple passing TDs in four straight. We have Newton in a tie for most projected FanDuel points at QB in Week 11.
