Week 10 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Thursday

Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Bridgewater should be good to go for a good matchup with the Raiders.

Cowboys QB Matt Cassel (knee) took full practice reps again Thursday. Cassel should be fine for a nice matchup with the Buccaneers.

Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. Manning should play, though HC Gary Kubiak didn’t sound completely confident. The limited practice is a good sign.

Browns QB Johnny Manziel (right elbow) took full practice reps again Thursday.

Browns QB Josh McCown (ribs) took limited practice reps again Thursday. HC Mike Pettine said that McCown would start if he’s healthy enough to play, and it looks like he’s moving in that direction. If he’s back under center, it would be an upgrade for the entire passing game, including Travis Benjamin, Gary Barnidge and Duke Johnson.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (foot) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. Roethlisberger is expected to miss this week and return after Pittsburgh’s Week 11 bye, but he has shed his walking boot and is ahead of schedule in his recovery. It’s not inconceivable that he could start against the Browns, though we believe the team will roll with Jones and let Roethlisberger heal. Jason La Canfora categorized Roethlisberger’s chances of playing as “unlikely.”
