Waiver Wire Watch: Week 10

Waiver Wire Watch: Week 10

Here is a look at the top waiver wire pickups for Week 10. To be eligible for discussion, the player must be owned in 50% or fewer ESPN leagues, though I'll stretch the rules a bit for the RB position, which is usually very thin. I'll also include suggested bid prices (with a $100 budget) for those leagues that use Free Agent Acquisition Budgets. Of course, player value depends on league characteristics and team needs.

* Players with an asterisk next to their name were mentioned in last week's Waiver Wire Watch.

Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick* ($5)
Fitzpatrick has had three great matchups this season (CLE, NE, TEN), and has averaged 261 yards and 3.3 touchdowns in those games. This week he faces the Patriots, whom he torched for 350 yards and four touchdowns back in Week 4. His upcoming schedule is pretty favorable with matchups against the Dolphins, Colts and Jaguars, so he could help an owner "get by" at the QB position in the short term.

Next up: Patriots, Dolphins, Colts

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill* ($3)
Unsurprisingly, Tannehill had a nice game against the Colts, throwing for 290 yards and a touchdown. With a pair of nice matchups against the Titans and Bills coming up in Week 10 and Week 11, along with the Patriots in Week 13 and the Jaguars and Bills in Week 15 and Week 16, Tannehill will be startable down the stretch.

Next up: Titans, Bills, Seahawks

Titans QB Jake Locker ($2)
Locker is expected to start in a nice matchup with the Dolphins, who are #24 in QB aFPA.

Next up: Dolphins, BYE, Jaguars

Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert* ($1)
Gabbert has been decent the last two weeks, averaging 262 yards and 1.5 TDs against the Packers and Lions. In Week 10, he faces the Colts who have struggled against the pass this season. He also has the Titans, Bills, Dolphins and Patriots down the stretch.

Next up: Colts, Texans, Titans

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson* ($1)
Wilson has thrown five touchdowns in the last two weeks against the Lions and Vikings. This week, he faces the Jets who have been stingy against QBs (#6 in aFPA) even without Darrelle Revis. Wilson will be semi-startable in Week 12 (MIA), Week 14 (ARI) and Week 15 (BUF).

Next up: Jets, BYE, Dolphins

Colts RB Vick Ballard ($15)
Donald Brown is now dealing with a hip injury in addition to his knee injury, and he only saw one touch against the Dolphins on Sunday. Ballard resumed his role as the team's lead back, and turned 19 touches into 98 yards. With the Jaguars and Bills coming up, Ballard will be startable as a low-end RB2 in Week 10 and Week 12.

Next up: Jaguars, Patriots, Bills
