I can keep 3 of the following 4 players in my PPR dynasty league:
- Jimmy Graham
- Colin Kaepernick
- Jamaal Charles
- David Wilson
With Bradshaw moved, would you consider keeping Wilson over any of the other 3? Our 10-team league's starting rosters include 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 TE and 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE).

Hi alscherer,
I'd probably keep Wilson over Kap. But I'm assuming that you don't have to forfeit any picks in order to keep players. While I think Andre Brown will maintain a large role in the Giants offense, David Wilson has the potential to really take a step forward with the depth chart a little more clear. I tend to value backs over QB's.

PPR Dynasty league. My RB keepers are DMC, Ridley, Sproles and maybe J-Stew (if DeAngelo leaves town). Am I better off drafting mid/low tier guys (ie Turner, BJGE, S-Jax), sleepers (ie Jacquiz Rodgers, Daryl Richardson, Bilal Powell) or should I go after the rookies? It seems I have good (not great) starters and should start planning for the future.

Hi Sscastro,
I think you can get by with those three this year, so I wouldn't worry about a stop gap. I would draft rookies, who usually do well anyway. There should be anywhere from two to four rookie rushers next year that should get significant carries, and you can always target guys like Lamar Miller and Ryan Williams who may take a step forward this year.

Hi Eire32,
That's tough, with RG3's injury. I think you're strategy is fine though. You could keep Kap as a move that is most likely to either make you really glad or really angry later on, depending on how RG3 feels. I would probably risk RG3, and try to draft a solid backup QB.
Good luck!

As a RG3 owner, would it be wise to invest in a 5th round pick by taking ( Kaepernick or Wilson ) or wait for someone like Big Ben, Romo, Eli in the later rounds?

Hi Eire32,
Happy St. Paddy's Day to you too! Since you're a one running back league and you've got Foster (and good WR's too) I might go ahead and try to lock up Kap or Wilson. If it was a league where you might need that pick elsewhere at RB, then I might think differently.

Hi Guys! I’m a new subscriber, and also new to Dynasty Leagues. I've been playing redraft for several years, and now have picked up two PPR dynasty teams. The first one is an existing team that I have taken over, and I wanted to know if you would mind taking a look at it to see where I need to go in the upcoming draft. I have the 1.07, 2.07, 3.07, and 4.07.
We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Def, 1PK. We have one flex that can be RB, WR, or TE.
.1 point for each yard rushing or receiving, and 1 PPR. .05 point for each yard passing, and 4 points for passing TDs. Otherwise fairly standard scoring
In looking at this team, it appears to me to be weak at QB and WR. So depending on how the NFL draft goes in April, it seems that at 1.07 I should be trying to home in on something like the following:
QBs Geno Smith, Barkley, Manuel, or Nassib
WRS Allen, Austin, Patterson, Hunter, Woods, Wheaton, or Hopkins
RBs Lacey, Bernard, Franklin, Bell, Michael, Latimore, or Ball.
Since I’m drafting at 1.07, I suppose it’s likely that the stud RBs will be long gone by then. So I’m hoping to learn a bit about how you would evaluate this team, and what general approach you might suggest for the draft. It’s a while away, but I’m trying to become familiar with this new format.
Thanks guys!
Rivers, Philip SDC QB
Flacco, Joe BAL QB
Kolb, Kevin FA* QB
Charles, Jamaal KCC RB
Forte, Matt CHI RB
Ridley, Stevan NEP RB
Tate, Ben HOU RB
Hunter, Kendall SFO RB
Ballard, Vick IND RB
Mendenhall, Rashard ARI RB
Hillman, Ronnie DEN RB
Turbin, Robert SEA RB
Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR
Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR
Austin, Miles DAL WR
Sanu, Mohamed CIN WR
Moss, Santana WAS WR
Burleson, Nate DET WR

Hi frankie-ray,
Welcome to the site!
I love your running backs, so I think it may work out okay for you picking 7th. I actually think Rivers will bounce back a little next year, but I agree an upgrade would be good at QB. I think you WR depth needs some work too, especially since you start three. Finally, there are two really good TE's in this draft.
The draft will end up determining the value on a lot of these guys, but Geno Smith is the only QB I'd consider grabbing in the first, and that's only if he winds up with a team like Buffalo where he'll likely start immediately.
If Geno ends up with a team like the Chiefs or the Eagles, I would rather see you hone in on a long-term replacement WR. Tavon Austin could end up being a great grab, and I like Allen and Patterson too. Those might be my targets in the first, while trying to grab another QB that ends up in a good situation in the second.
Also, in the 2nd or 3rd (depending how your draft is going), I might target Ertz or Eiffert depending where they end up. They could upgrade your TE spot.
In dynasty leagues, I really like to load up on young WR's.
Like I said, the draft will determine the value on a lot of these players, but I've seen far worse rosters to begin with, so I think you have a lot to be excited about. Good luck!

Joe Flacco keeps pointing at me on the front page.
"Yeah, sure you are. You're real sorry, ain't you? You're just crying your little hearts out about Sandy and Sal and Manny. "

Hi Eire32,
Don't feel bad, he points at me too... reminds me of all the weeks I started him and he did nothing, and all the weeks I didn't start him and he blew up.

What are your early thoughts on keeping David Wilson
as my 4th rd keeper and releasing RG3? In my league, worst case scenario - I may lose RG3 but can still get Kapernick in the 5th. Many QB's are kept (6ptTD). Or stay the course because RG3 is a beast and I shouldn't risk losing him..

Eire32,
In a 1RB league where you have Foster, I'd gamble on RG3. Not that I don't like Wilson, if you could keep both, I'd go that route. But if it's one or the other, with Foster in hand, I'd keep RG3. I think he's worth the considerable risk.

Hi heavymetal,
John and Josh have done an excellent analysis of the draft. You can find it on the main page.
The main guys to be looking at though are probably in this order:
Le'Veon Bell, Pittsburgh
Eddie Lacy, Green Bay
Montee Ball, Denver
Giovani Bernard, Cincy
Johnathan Franklin, Green Bay (could steal time from Lacy)
I think Bell has the best chance to start early and get 20 carries a game, but Lacy and Bell could also get a lot of work early. Bernard is a versatile and interesting option. He needs to stay healthy, and he'll share time with The Law Firm, so he's likely to hover around 8-12 touches per game. We'll see if that's enough.

What are your thoughts on keeping J Graham with the 17th overall pick in a 12 team PPR league?
Posted by Scout Brandon Niles
May 5, 2013, 10:31 pm
Hi nitap,
I'm not against it. I could listen to an argument either way, but I think there are definitely worse things that locking down arguably the safest TE option with a second round pick. Depends how you feel about it really, but in a keeper league, the elite guys will probably be kept, limiting the value of the 17th overall pick. So I'm okay with it.

What's up 4for4? Just re-upped got a nagging problem.
12 Team, non-PPR, must Keep 3 (No penalty for keeping), IDP; Starts equal 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1FLEX (RB/WR/TE), K, CB, DL, LB 2FLEX (CB/DL/LB). PR and KR yards count as well.
My potentials:
Kaepernick
McCoy, Ridley, Chris Johnson, Reggie Bush
Cobb, White
I can get a 4RD pick (4.08) for Ridley. I currently have no 4RD pick.
I think that at LEAST 5 QB's will be retained, Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Newton, RGIII. Good chance that Manning, Luck and Stafford get kept as well. I think that eliminates keeping Kaep and trying to snag him with my 1RD or 2RD pick.
McCoy is a no brainer.
Which remaining 2 do I keep? Do I move Ridley for the 4RD, or do I keep him and go without? The PR KR yards made Cobb the #3 WR last year.
Thoughts appreciated!
